MALASIMBO 2015

Malasimbo Music Festival is the event that Ive dreamt to attend of ,since 2011 .

However, somehow, I regretted going there last week, it made me want it more! It only brought me anxiety and hoping that it will be happening soon again, but , I have to wait for another year again! Sigh! Anyway , experiencing this just for a day is still awesome and great! I do now believe on what they've called Malasimbo Magic! : )

Before attending this event , and although, I have bought a ticket for just a day ( without knowing who were the artist playing) . I've been reading articles of previous celebration on how to survive this event ,as if I am going to a battle. I should be ready on what to expect and especially for the expenses. We bought chips and water as suggested , so we wont starve, according to some bloggers , food inside the area are quite costly.

So there, we arrived in Mindoro @ 8:00 in the morning so its too early to get in to the event, so we just decided to have a ''sidetrip'' , and we chose to visit the underground cave and went on snorkeling.

After a few hours , we packed our things up going to Mt. Malasimbo, locals informed us that there were festival jeepneys and fare is for only 200 roundtrip . As we are about to rode , Mr D'aboville saw and approached us if we are going to the event.

D' Aboville : are you going to the mountain ?

Me : yes sir!

D' Aboville : Ok come here.. ( with gesture of putting his arm on my shoulder )

Me : ( stepping outside of the jeepney )

D' Aboville : Do you see this ? ( pointing on malasimbo billboard that says ''dont bring food or any beverages " ) On every festival on any country they do nOt bring food or beverages.

Me: oH ok . So beverages , you mean...even water?

D' Aboville : YES!

Me : OK ( smile )

On my amazement of having this small convo with him , Ive forgot to asked for a picture! :)

Mr D'Aboville is the organizer of Malasimbo for 5 years together with his wife and Miro . A humble man and I guess a Filipino by heart. He spearheaded this beautiful event for music and arts lovers for 5 years and up until now , seems it is still a success.

Just sharing the memories , I will come back .. for sure! :)

This is the perfect place for doing this. A-NOT-SO-PERFECT-YOGA-POSE

MALASIMBO GROUNDS and ITS NATURAL AMPHITHEATER. SO LOVELY ISN'T IT ?! INDEED, A PERFECT VENUE

MUSICIANS! (Ive got few pics.. hmmm, ive noticed it just now. Tsk! )

COLORFUL NIGHT in MALASIMBO. MY FAVE SHOT! ( thank you Julius! )

This is really where Music , Arts , and Natures' collide !

Me : Can I have a picture with you ?

D'Aboville : Oh, It's for 10,000 pesos!

Me : That's fine! Can I haggle? Make it 9,000.

D'Aboville : Haha!

MANGYAN STUFFS FOR SALE

ITS FULL MOON and I find it sweeter when nature CONSPIRES WITH THIS EVENT!

It's FULL MOON , so there on the other side of the mountain lunatics perform a Moon ritual, LOVELY! *clap clap clap*

TAPSILOG AND HERBED KESONG PUTI SANDWICHED. Even though tickets were sold expensively , I could still defend that its worth it. However. I ve noticed that FOOD sold inside are way expensive. It will tripled the price. I remember buying Coke Sakto on a plastic bottle and it costs us 60php. For MAlasimbos' kesong puti w/ tinapay ,75php ( wherein I bought 2 of that herbed kesong puti sandwich (kulang saken ang isa)) . For a simple tapsilog , 150php. But despite of its price , masarap naman and malinis! :)

We wasn't able to see how the day ends! We went back to the pension house while BleuRascals was performing. We're so exhausted for the whole day because we had ''sidetrip'' going to Long beach and went on snorkeling.

Anyway, to sum it up! I am emphasizing that it was a real ''happiness'', I have reaaaaally enjoyed that day! Babalik ako and I will bought tickets for 3days next year. Abangan ko talaga yung SALE period :)

TheJunkYard! Oh yeah!! :)

Ok fine ,as i remember, the last gig i've attended and watched was when i am 4 months preggo and it was in Fete dela Musique in Makati. We're late 'tho so it was a dissapointment! Few pics. No Cynthia Alexander and few Streets Musicians, not as festive like before!

So lucky me , after i gave birth , i already have a ''few'' chance of going out and we have an accesible one-ride music bar on our area that plays good music. I skipped few bands played there, so when i knew that RAZORBACK was having a gig , I didn't come up for second thoughts. I definitely went there! Just wanna share my few pics of that event :

This band played good BLues ..galing nila mag cover!

Kevin Roy! (daming tao e hehe )

I still have this ''kaba'' in front of my fave musician, akala ko na overcome ko na .. di pa pala.. i really wanted to shout ,actually! haha

Should i resist a shot with one of my fave musician! GO LELAY! Yiheeeeee

So there..''bangag'' after headbanging and shouting!Haha

AFTER THE WHOLE DAY THERAPY SESSION ON MY TRAINING SCHOOL YESTERDAY, IVE HURRIEDLY WENT HOME SO I COULD CATCH AT LEAST 3-4HOURS OF ENOUGH SLEEP BEFORE GOING TO WORK AT NIGHT.
SO EXHAUSTED THAT I WAS EXPECTING A VERY SERENE PLACE AROUND MY ROOM, AND OUR HOUSE AS WELL...A COMFY BLANKET AND BED,NO LOUD RADIOs FROM NEIGHBORHOOD, A NICE WEATHER..NO DISTURBANCE!

THATs WHAT I'VE ANTICIPATED...=)

MY FATHERs LONG TIME FRIENDS FROM HIS COMBO DAYS VISITED HIM THAT DAY.
I WAS GLAD TO SEE HIM WITH THEM, ITS BEEN A LONG TIME THOUGH'.
THEIR LAST REUNION WAS 1998 . A DECADE AGO AND NOW I AM SEEING THEM AGAIN. IT FEELS GOOD TO RECOLLECT THOSE DAYS ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE WITH FRIENDS,and IN MY FATHERs CASE, REMINISCIN THOSE BANDA DAYS COULD BRING THEIR YOUTH BACK.
OPPOSITE OF WHAT IVE THOUGHT OF, ,IVE THOUGHT THAT I COULD SLEEP AS I WOULD REACHED OUR HOUSE...I'VE PICKED MY CAMERA, AND TOOK SOME PICS!
A SIMPLE KEEPSAKE ON MY PART, IF NOT OF HIM, SINCE HIS INTEREST WAS NOT ONTO CAPTURING MUSHY MOMENTS LIKE THIS. SINCE AFTER SEEING THEM MADE MY EMOTIONS SO ELATED, NO MORE YAWNS.,,
I WENT ON-LINE CHECK MY ACCOUNTS and TOOK A PEEKED AND PEEPED ON WHAT THEY'VE TALKING ABOUT, IVE HEARD THEIR LAUGHTERS, TEASING EACH OTHER. IVE HEARD THEY WILL BE HAVING A GET-TOGETHER AGAIN ON DEC.04..((TAY SAMA AKO!! PITSUR PITSUR LANG AKO!HEHE)) =))

ITS NICE AND IT FELT SO GOOOOD! =)

PAMPALIPAS NG SAMA NG LOOB by GARY GRANADA

"...ako ang bayani ng mga bigo. di nagtatampo, di naglalaro, di naninibugho. ako'y walang puso't damdamin, di kailangang malaman mo pa. nakahanda na maglingkod kahit tingin mo pa sa akin pansamantala, pampalipas ng sama ng loob."-GaryGranada

Im into some of his songs these past few days and been humming to this since yesterday, ive just stumbled the video on youtube and found it really interesting. This song is so cute and i didnt find any negativity with the lyrics, just the complexity and laudable expression of his emotions. Lyrics of his songs are very pleasing and some are poetic.

Ive known GaryGaranada as a folk artist wayback 90's,, when i was in my 3rd year high school and became a Fan of Ginebra, where EHEADS and RIVERMAYA+INTROVOYS were hot on the airwaves. He sang the team's theme and i got dismayed (BayangBarrios also have the version of it) .
I dont even appreciate his works before even the melody, also, works of other FOLK-ethnic artist are not in my mind...but that was before!! i will insist..that was BEFORE!!! ;)

Saranggola sa ulan is primarily my favorite.=)

So everytime i am humming it...

i just smile ... =)
